These covers began with a very strong visual premise: if the novels are The Time Bureau Files, why not make the books themselves look like files somebody was probably not supposed to leave on a desk?
I designed the first three covers for Kurt Hausheer’s science-fantasy series around that idea. Documents, evidence, photographs, labels, stamps and restricted-file markings build the frame, while each volume gets its own colour identity and central set of clues. The goal was to make the books immediately recognizable as a series without simply changing the title and tinting the same cover three times.
The production side also became part of the project. I adapted the covers for Amazon/KDP and IngramSpark, which have sufficiently different print requirements to make “same book, different printer” a surprisingly adventurous sentence. By book two we had finally bullied the Ingram templates into cooperation.
The stories themselves cross time travel, fantasy, ancient magic and science fiction, so the bureaucratic evidence-board treatment gives the series a nice visual counterweight: impossible things presented with absolute administrative confidence.
